About needlefelting Wool becomes felted when the fibres are rubbed together and become locked together. It can be done whilst wet (often a new jumper in a washing machine!) or by stabbing the wool using a barbed needle. I like to use various types of woo,l including Merino and mohair wool, hedgerow sheep’s wool collected on country walks and alpaca wool, which I stab onto a man -made backing to make pictures. I also use remnants of felted material to add texture to my work.
